Exact Statistical Distribution of the Body Mass Index (BMI): Analysis and Experimental Confirmation
نویسندگان
چکیده
Body Mass Index (BMI), defined as the ratio of individual mass (in kilograms) to square associated height meters), is one most widely discussed and utilized risk factors in medicine public health, given increasing obesity worldwide its relation metabolic disease. Statistically, BMI a composite random variable, since human weight (converted mass) are themselves variables. Much effort over years has gone into attempts model or approximate distribution function. This paper derives mathematically exact probability density function (PDF), well bivariate PDF for height. Taken together, shown be correlated lognormal variables whose marginal distributions each form. The mean variance distribution, together with linear correlation coefficient two distributions, provide 5 nonadjustable parameters population that uniquely determine corresponding which also theoretical analysis tested experimentally by gender against large anthropometric data base, found predict near perfection profile empirical and, great accuracy, statistics including mean, variance, skewness, kurtosis, correlation. Beyond solving longstanding statistical problem, significance these findings that, knowledge functions diverse populations, medical health professionals can then make better informed inferences regarding policies reduce obesity.

The Relationship between the Mother’s Pre-pregnancy Body Mass Index (BMI) and Infant’s Birth Weight
Introduction: Birth weight, as one of the main indices of growth, is among the determining factors of survival. Given the absence of documented studies and lack of information regarding the influence of mothers’ body mass index (BMI) on newborns’ birth weight, this study was carried out with the aim to determine the relation between the mother’s BMI at the beginning of pregnancy and the infant’...

15 صفحه اولEvaluating the Correlation between the Body Mass Index (BMI) and Dental Age in 6 to 13-Yyear-Old Children
Background and aim: Methods of age estimation with the aid of radiography have higher accuracy compared with other methods. Some investigations have been performed in this regard, but the correlation between dental development and Body Mass Index (BMI) has been limitedly researched. In the present study, the correlation between dental development and BMI in the children referring to the dental ...
متن کاملGrowth Charts of Body Mass Index (BMI) With Quantile Regression
Growth charts of body mass index (BMI) are constructed from the recent four-year national crosssectional survey data (1999−2002) using parametric quantile regression methods, which are implemented with a newly developed SAS procedure (http://www.sas.com/statistics) and SAS macros.
